Step Aerobics Weight Lose

Considered one of today’s widely used forms of aerobics exercises is step aerobics, released at the start of the 90s. This new form is an innovation of the old aerobics program, this time having a step (a raised contraption, 6 to 8 inches high) where the aerobics performer is going to step on and off.

The stepping rates (it usually starts at 120 per minute) as well as the height of the steps (6 to 8 inches) are usually changed according to the exerciser’s situation and expertise. A majority of these straightforward step-up, step-down aerobics are as beneficial as those of more intense movements, but less detrimental to the joints.

Basic moves

The fundamental step will involve stepping one foot first and then the other on top of the step, then stepping down on the floor using the same sequence of foot movements. There is a common agreement amongst aerobic enthusiasts that the “right basic” is stepping right foot up, then your left, and then stepping down to the floor with the right then your left foot.

For variations, instructors switch different moves within the sequence, for instance like changing the “right basic” to the “left basic” without in-between moves. Usually, this is accomplished by means of “tapping” the foot rather than shifting weights.

An alternative form of step is known as “tap-free” or smooth step. This is done with the feet always alternating and with no confusing “taps”. The “taps” can sometimes make mastering difficult for first time aerobics students.

The aerobics instructor typically plans beforehand when to introduce a switching move that maintains the normal rhythm of moves to mimic the natural shifting of weights on both legs such as walking.

From the right basics, the trainer may insert a “knee up” (lifting a knee and during the return, switches the move to the other foot) and continue with the left basics.

Sets

Commonly, a set prepared by the instructor includes a variety of moves with different durations. It’s performed together by the entire class and often timed to 32 beats per set. This can be done in such a way that your entire set can be switched and repeated in the other leg, mirror-like.

Elementary level classes have simpler simple movements. Advanced classes sometimes incorporate dance components like turns and stomps and whatever is in style.

Elements are strung together in two to three programs per class. One learns these workouts in class, that’ll be conducted at the conclusion of the class. Most instructors offer a number of options for every individual’s level of intensity or dance ability during the illustrating of the routines.

Benefits

Step aerobics helps burn up calories and maintain weight. The quantity of calories that are used up rely on the intensity, speed as well as the duration of the aerobic exercises.

Step aerobics helps in endurance, prevents cardiovascular diseases, and improves gait and balance. It also provides flexibility training to enhance joints movements.

Finally, step aerobics helps maintain good mental health because the workouts are fun and enjoyable, and sessions certainly releas stress. With a group session, a person’s social life is enhanced as well.

If your looking for an Aerobic Workout which is going to be less stress on your joints due to various reasons you could also look at participating in Water Aerobics which is low impact yet still provides a solid workout.
